On the intellectual quickie
"Book summaries are the only way most people are able to actually finish a book" - This is what the morons at Bookstash.io are peddling today.

They are far from the first McLearning platforms out there. I believe Blinkist and Headway were the first to pioneer the business of the intellectual quickie. The main benefit of these apps is that they are robust ways to tell that somebody is either shallow or fake.
"Why read a full book when you can get a 3 min summary" is the educational equivalent of "Why get a life partner when you can subscribe to my Onlyfans". Scandalous, and yet #1 product of the day on Product Hunt
Many works can indeed be summarized thoroughly in as little as a few sentences. For example, Mark Manson essentially said: "Relax, bruh". But at least he's slick and has some nice stories.
Other examples include books written by self congratulatory EX-CEOs of large evil conglomerates that pollute rivers and enslave brown children, self-help books with the author posing on the front cover, productivity books, get-rich books with the author posing on either side of the cover, and that stinker that Jérôme Barthélemy wrote.
If a book can be summarized into a quick read, it's a great indication that you should avoid it like East Turkey. You can still read it, but why would you in the presence of a superior alternative?
I discussed this with a friend recently and they think very highly of these platforms. I later figured out that their diet consisted of that charlatanic corner or literature that is the business book. "I will teach you to become a great CEO", "Here's why Andy Grove is pretty much god" and "Why Bill Gates wasn't extremely lucky at all"... The Poor bastard has been consuming trash all this time and wondering why he's turning into a moron.
I don't have a point. I just saw that our culture hit a new low with these 3-min book summaries... Imagine Dale Carnegie in 3-min... Shameless. It reminded me of why I want to suspend my membership in society.
When the cyborg rise, let'em know I was against it since the start.
