On home

Cruel chapters, the places we go, and a smack on dat ass

Home is not a feeling. It's a human experience, as state of being.

I live here, I belong here, and I'm from here, this is where I ought to be. This is what it's like to experience Home.

It's also many other more frivulous concerns: it's where my stuff is, it's where they know me, it's the place I know to be.

All of that is euqally called "Being home".

These experiences come and go as you move around places or even through a lifetime in the same place.

When you're crushing it in life, every place feels like home. When life is cruel to you, you realize that the most powerful state of Home is the place you're from, where you grew up. People develop affection for their home the more cruelty they experience.

Life's cruely sometimes doesc't come in the form of a rough chapter. Sometimes, life is cruel to you while you're winning. You turn around and you realize: None of this matters. You're not at home.

Home is where you want to be when there's no place for you elsewhere.

Home is to geography, is what family is to relationships. You're assigned one at birth, someone smacks your ass and says good luck.
