On sacrifice

You hear about Anne Frank’s heroics. You’d think this woman lived in Warsaw with the actual heroes. But no. She lived in Amsterdam, in a rather nice part of town. I grant you that it was a roof but still. You don’t get trench foot in roofs.

And yes, people her age had it much worse in Stalingrad. Anne Frank is there to make a point, without being an actually good example of the point.
